Hello, everyone. I am Samantha!! I am the wife to a wonderful man, Bob! We have been married since November 14th, 2003. We were married after dating for a month. He was in the Air Force in Florida at the time...so I flew down on November 13th, and we were married at the court house the next morning. Someday soon, hopefully, we will be able to renew our vows in a church.
I have been blessed to be the momma to three great kids.
Bobby was born on April 20, 2005 in Florida (three weeks early) and after a very hard pregnancy. He weighed 5lbs 14ozs. I had preeclampsia, elevated liver enzymes, after delivery I had a uterus infection and my blood pressure went extremely high (to the point where I had to be rushed to a nearby hospital because the ER thought I was going to have a stroke). I really don't remember the birth or the pain of the actual labor or delivery of my beautiful baby...the military hospital decided to induce me full throttle that day and had given me three different pain medications including a epidural. I do kind of remember that I had just been given IV medication (because the nurses told me that it would be an hour before I could get an epidural) when the anesthesiologist walked in a gave me an epidural....that's about the last thing I really remember. I do know my entire labor and delivery was about 5 hours with him. Today Bobby is a happy, fun loving child....I think that he has the personality to be a public speaker of some sort when he gets older...he always has to have all the attention in the room, and is known to announce to an entire room that they need to pay attention to him!
Alex was born on December 22, 2006 in Illinois...He was almost born in Nicaragua, but we decided to move back to Illinois on October 30, 2006. This was a very good thing because I had another bad pregnancy toward the end...just like when I was pregnant with his brother. I was a St. Mary's in a little triage room for about a week before they decided to send me to St. Francis....where I was for about another 2 weeks (my OB in Galesburg wanted me to deliver him early and wanted me to be somewhere that could handle a child who was that premature, God had other plans though.) I was sent home after the doctors at St. Francis decided that I didn't have preeclampsia again....and they didn't know why my liver enzymes were elevated...but, came to the conclusion that I would be able to deliver him when he wanted to be delivered. When I returned to Galesburg I called my OB to make another prenatal appointment and was asked when I delivered...so I guess that my doctor had already marked me as delivered! Finally on December 22nd (2 days after my 23rd birthday) Alex was born! He was 6 lbs 4 ozs (2 weeks early). He was a col icy baby...there were some days that I thought I was going to loose my mind, but now almost 3 years later I am very happy with my little boy! He is a sweetheart and has the best hugs and kisses! I think that when he gets older he might work with trains, he absolutely loves them!!! He was a late talker, apparently he couldn't really hear us to well, but since he had tubes put in his ears about 6 months ago he has been talking a bunch!!
Then there was my precious little girl. Allison Elizabeth was born on April 11th, 2008 (4 weeks early) she weighed 5 lbs 13ozs. I had a few scares during my pregnancy with her....at about 2 months pregnant I was bleeding and was put on bed rest for a few weeks yet again (I spent many weeks on bed rest with the boys). After that scare my pregnancy was going okay until a test decided that she might have down syndrome...I had to have a amino....I was so worried until the results came in that she was going to be okay! Bob and I decided that before the amino that no matter the results we would keep the baby and love her just the same...but still we were relieved that she was fine. From there on the pregnancy was the best one that I had, I had no morning sickness, or anything else. Then I was sitting in a Spanish class offered at my church and thought I felt a pop and thought that I may have wet myself a little bit, so I decided to go to the restroom. When I got into the restroom I discovered that in fact my water had broke. This is when all the "fun" happened! This was a Thursday, when Cub Scouts had their meeting, and there were boys everywhere. I decided that I would try to hide as much of the "wetness" as possible from them so that I could make it back down to my Spanish Class for help. When I finally got back to the class room, everyone went into full panic/get stuff done mode! 1 woman drove my car, someone found plastic for me to sit on so that I wouldn't wreak the seats to my parents car (did I mention that on this day my husband was a work, and my parents were watching my kids at my house, and I had taken their car to the church.) another woman had to follow behind the woman driving my car so that they would be able to get back to the church, and two sisters volunteered to watch the boys so that my parents could take me to the hospital. My father called my husband at work and he ran out of the building yelling that his wife was having a baby! When I arrived at the hospital and was in Labor and Delivery no one was in sight...so my mom went searching for a nurse. So from there on my delivery wasn't the easiest....her heart rate kept dropping and my contractions had pretty much stopped so they decided to induce....But after an hour they had to stop because her heart rate was not handling it. So that's when the doctor decided to get creative...he had me get on my elbows and knees, I turned pretty much anyway that the human body...when that big and hooked up to so many machines could move. Then the doctor decided to try to add more fluids!!! He thought that maybe I had lost to much fluids and maybe that was the reason that she wasn't handling the labor...well needless to say that didn't help either. So the next Friday morning I had to have a C-section. I was pretty nervous and scared to have it done...and very thankful that I couldn't see anything while it was going on. When the doctors finally got Allie out she wasn't breathing and Bob described her as a blue baby doll...the pediatrician fought for about 5 minutes to get my baby breathing...finally I could hear her cry and I saw a sense of relief go over my husbands face. I couldn't hold Allie for 2 days while she was under oxygen....and God helped again when she started breathing on her own completely and wasn't sent to St. Francis!!!! I was so happy because there was no way that I could go with her. I still had 2 days in the hospital myself...and then even after that I had the two boys waiting for me at home, and Bob had to get back to work! Miss Allie, as I call her, was a blessing and am so happy to have her! Her personality is sweet, she always in a hurry to do things (which is probably why she decided to come so early, LOL). As I sit here typing I am watching her dance, and am so thankful that God gave her to me, I don't know what I would have done if I had lost her at her birth!! On a side note, Bob and I didn't have her first name figured out when my water broke....so as we set in the hospital that night my father went through a phone book, listing names....and we finally agreed on Allison!! She is such an Allie!!
Well that's all that I can really talk about today...I need to get back to cleaning....and am sorry for any misspelled words as I was having three children hanging on me at different times while I typed!
GOD BLESS!
